Happy Thanksgiving!

Sometimes people write a list of the things for which they're thankful:

  1. I'm thankful for my family.

  1. I'm thankful for my friends.

  1. I'm thankful that I got up this morning.

As a reader, you look at the lists, or hear them and it has little impact.

Just like attacking the SAT or ACT, you need context.

So here is a little “context” about my list. Two months ago, my wife was in and out of the hospital over the course of a month for what was initially a simple one day procedure.  During that time, we had to deal with some BIG health scares and my mom dropped everything in her life to come down and help with our son. She, along with a neighbor, helped shoulder the burden.

So, when I give you my list, it has some context:

  1. I'm thankful for my wife being here with me.

  1. I'm thankful my mom could change her plans to come visit and stay for several weeks.

  1. I’m thankful our neighbor could help watch our son.

  1. I’m thankful for all the doctors and nurses working to make things easier.

  1. I’m thankful.

I hope my post motivates you.
